A Guide to Using MediaWiki in a Hosted Environment
An instructional website by the developer of mh370wiki.net - a MediaWiki site about Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
The site Logo is located at the top left of the screen.
On this website the MediaWiki logo has been modified to include an image of the Boeing 777 which went missing on Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. However, the background of that image is neither transparent nor filled with a colour to match the background.
This is intentional: it shows the actual size and location of the Logo.
MediaWiki expects the logo to be 135px x 135px.
The Logo file is normally located in /w/resources/assets. However, in LocalSettings.php the location of the Logo is specified by variables.
Here is the Logo settings for this website:-
## The URL paths to the logo. Make sure you change this from the default, ## or else you'll overwrite your logo when you upgrade! $wgLogos = [ '1x' => "$wgResourceBasePath/resources/assets/mwMH370.png", 'tagline' => [ "src" => "A Guide for MediaWiki in a Hosted Environment", "width" => 117, "height" => 13 ], 'icon' => "$wgResourceBasePath/resources/assets/mwMH370.png", ];
The $wgResourceBasePath is defined separately:-
## The URL path to static resources (images, scripts, etc.) $wgResourceBasePath = $wgScriptPath;
And the $wgScriptPath is also defined separately. Note that on this site these variables are configured to enable removal of the /wiki from the the URL.
$wgScriptPath = "/w"; $wgArticlePath = "/$1"; $wgUsePathInfo = false;
Flexible Logo
What would happen if the logo size was specified in em instead of px?
